The dash-functionality does not seem to work.
Tested in IE, Firefox and Chrome.

I think you mean the simulation. It is a known limitation of HTML5 supporting: so far there is no way to draw dashed line in cavas element. We will have this supported when browsers support doing so.
The reason that we do not hide the dashed line style in tool panel is that we may need it for static wireframing.
