Drop an animated GIF, have it work in the simulation

It would be SUPER COOL if I could drop an animated GIF into ForeUI. I tried but ForeUI exported a PNG, not animated, so I couldn’t simulate my blinking LED without code to show/hide the image. I’d also like to make an animated spinning process indicator, but without animated GIF support I would have to use code to animate all of the frames.
