Groups don’t preserve Z order

ForeUI 2.571 – If I group a window together with child elements and then select the child element, say a button, and right click to assign an event to it, all the child elements disappear behind the window. I would think a group of elements together would preserve z order, but this doesn’t appear to be the case.
